You may have heard of people adding butter to their coffee. Or even seen it. Or even tried it.
You might have heard people call the act of adding butter to one’s coffee Bulletproof. Here’s why just adding butter does NOT equate to Bulletproof Coffee.
Around these parts. Here at Burn Off Your Beer Belly.. We call it Belly Burnin’ Coffee.

What Is Belly Burnin’ Coffee?
It’s usually one of the first questions we get. To put it simply, it’s coffee blended with butter from grass-fed cows and MCT oil. It might sound a little crazy, a little wacky.. this ain’t my usual cup ‘o joe!
But it’s actually one of our first recommendations to burn body fat. One of the keys to getting your body into fat burning mode is a healthy dose of fats in the morning.
We feel the best way to do this is with a cup or two of Belly Burnin’ Coffee.
Drink Fattening Coffee To Burn Body Fat?! You’ve Got To Be Crazy!
It does seem counter-intuitive, unconventional and complete blasphemy to ingest fat in order to burn fat. But, it’s true, ingesting healthy fats – especially in the morning – will cause a chain reaction within your body priming it for fat burning.
On the flip side of that, ingesting high carb, high sugar, high grain foods in the morning causes the reverse action. Eating or drinking these things along with most processed foods, in the morning, will throw your body into fat storage mode.
Here’s a video clip from the Burn Off Your Beer Belly Podcast where we discuss this process in more detail:
Won’t The Butter Raise My Cholesterol Levels?
It might. But, contrary to mainstream & conventional wisdom, high cholesterol isn’t necessarily bad for your health. It can actually be quite healthy to have total cholesterol levels of over 200.
Why is this?
There’s more to it than just having 200 cholesterol. What are your triglyceride levels? What are your HDL levels? What are your ratios? What size are your LDL particles?
Having high HDL levels can put your total cholesterol over 200, but HDL is considered the ‘good’ cholesterol. So, why is this a problem?
There’s also different kinds of fats. Grass-fed butter is a healthy fat. It actually helps to optimize your cholesterol levels and your blood chemistry.
Grass-fed butter is also loaded with omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin K2. Both are great for your brain and heart health.
What Is MCT Oil?
MCT stands for medium chain triglycerides. And the oil is derived from coconut oil. These MCTs are made up of different types of medium chain fatty acids.
There’s C6 or Caproic Acid. There’s C8 or Caprylic Acid. There’s C10 or Capric Acid. Then there’s C12 or Lauric Acid.
The type of MCT oil you’ll want to look for is one high in the C8 and the C10. When you ingest these, they will bypass being processed in your liver so you’ll gain almost immediate energy boosting effects in your brain and body.
This is long-lasting, sustainable energy too, with zero late afternoon crash.
MCT oil also clears brain fog, suppresses cravings and helps to burn body fat.
Here’s 5 Reasons We Love Belly Burnin’ Coffee So Much…
